Our learning spaces
(some of them!)
The Compass framework for learning (P-6)
utilises the dimensions of
inquiries, focused learning and child contributions & play
to deliver the Australian Curriculum in engaging, active and rigorous ways.

Inquiries can take many forms and involve your child in independent, group and class investigations that explore interests, questions, topics and big ideas.

Inquiry in action
In this example, the children are engaged in the inquiry:
Design and Create!
The children were involved in every aspect of designing and creating their very own school musical that was performed in the La Boite Theatre!
Here's just some of the learning experiences they engaged with:

Sing, dance, act, compose and create choreography
in our original musical production.

Design and make costumes, props and sets for use in the school musical.

Read the musical script and story version, and write invitations and programs for the performance.

Use mathematical skills to measure costumes and sets and make our own versions of rocky road.

During focused learning sessions, Compass teachers work with individuals and small groups to build your child's knowledge, skills and strategies, in learning areas and in key capability areas such as literacy and numeracy.
Focused learning in action
Compass teachers use research-aligned strategies to tailor learning to support your child to:
